Topic: Surveillance

To show that we are being constantly watched and to raise people's awareness so that they don't make any regretful choices (getting turned into memes),

Anyone and everyone, I presume, but mostly teenagers and young adults who actively use social media like YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok. Motivation factors such as the video being funny, surprising, or meaningful work well when uploaded to social media.

I wanted it to have more of a documentary vibe.

I wanted to use the image, video, and sound effects to help my viewers understand what I was trying to say with only a few lines of dialogue. somewhat like a short Netflix documentary.

I wanted to inform my viewers to stay in touch and be informed about surveillance. My viewers should learn to be cautious, but always keep in mind that they are watching in some form.

To restrict their usage of media and protect their own identity before surveillance

I wanted to bring a sense of urgency and realism to the video by using different techniques for sound effects and visuals. To do that, I used real-time video, news, and social media so that it might be related to the audience, and by using the music, I could build up the tense and urgency of the message that 'you have to do it now!' and through the combination style of a Netflix documentary, I was able to bring that thought into my audience's mind: 'Hey, this is more relatable to me than I thought'.

While editing, I stick to my plan and edit while inputting the correct video footage, soundtrack, and sound effect in the video.

I used multiple websites to get my source and create my video from scratch, like Pixebay, YouTube, Panzoid, and Canva.

Cavna

I used Canva to create my typesetting effect because I didn't know how to do it with Adobe while using the effect on Pixebay.

Adobe

Most of the effects I used in Adobe or in this video I had to learn from scratch

I also spend the majority of my time finding the perfect sound effect from video footage like clock noise on Pixebay and YouTube.

I even record and do some of the sound effects myself, like the keyboard typing.

I also watch a lot of YouTube videos on how to improve sound quality and create good SFX so that the video sound will be good and I will improve my skills.

The said video I watched and learned: 1 2 3 4 5

Panzoid

I really wanted to create something similar to a Netflix intro, and I found an app called Panzoid and spent 1-2 days learning it and creating a custom Netflix intro with my name.

Challenges

During the process, I had a lot of trouble with the audio and export, as some of the audio files were broken and couldn't be used; I had to replace them, while for exporting, some of the footage was broken, and I only knew this up until the last day, which could take me 5–6 hours to redownload the file, compress it, and reedit everything, taking another day or two.

While I didn't have as much trouble with the SFX, it still took me a lot of trial and error, almost up to 170 recordings.
